Atypical for Faye's 20th Century Fox output, this has no musical numbers, and the tone is more dramatic than comic. (The alternate title was Falling Stars.) The first part of the film provides a fictionalized look at silent-era performers and their productions. PlotIn 1913, Director Michael Linnett Connors (Don Ameche), chooses Broadway star Molly Adair (Alice Faye) to be in his next film. Molly, though in love with him ends up marrying her co-star, Nicky Hayden (Alan Curtis). Connors misunderstands her and fires her, but with that his career quickly declines with the beginning of the sound era. Cast{{div col|colwidth=26em}}
