The district includes 727 contributing buildings in two residential areas of State College; Holmes–Foster and the Highlands. The district reflects the growth and development of State College as an emerging college town. The houses are largely wood frame and reflect a number of popular early-20th-century architectural styles including Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow. Non-residential buildings include two schools, three churches, a few shops, and the high school football stadium, Memorial Field. Located in the district is the separately listed Camelot.[2] It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Holmes-Foster-Highlands Historic District}}{{CentreCountyPA-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite web| url = https://www.dot7.state.pa.us/ce/SelectWelcome.asp| title = National Historic Landmarks & National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania| publisher = CRGIS: Cultural Resources Geographic Information System| format = Searchable database}} Note: This includes {{cite web| url = {{NRHP-PA|H102342_01H.pdf}}| title = National Register of Historic Places Inventory Nomination Form: Holmes–Foster–Highlands Historic District| accessdate = 2011-11-05| author = Jacqueline Melander and Deryck Holdsworth| format = PDF| date= February 1995}} 5 : Historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania|Colonial Revival architecture in Pennsylvania|Tudor Revival architecture in Pennsylvania|Historic districts in Centre County, Pennsylvania|National Register of Historic Places in Centre County, Pennsylvania |
