In 2010 the shipwreck site was added to the National Register of Historic Places.[1] HistoryThe Home was built in 1843.[2] She spent most of her life on Lake Erie before operating on Lake Michigan. In 1858 the Home sank after an early-morning collision with another schooner called the William Fiske while en route from Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois.
