}}Hope for Paws is a 501 C-3 non-profit animal rescue group based in Los Angeles, California, that gives homeless and injured animals the chance of a good life. Founded by Eldad and Audrey Hagar in 2008, Hope for Paws rescues animals facing death or danger through abuse or abandonment. They pay for veterinary costs and work in tandem with other animal-welfare organizations, eventually finding the animals permanent loving homes once they have recovered.[1]

During its early years, Hope for Paws operated on an ad hoc basis, but it quickly gained loyal supporters around the world when the Hagars posted a YouTube video about a blind dog named Fiona.[2] One of the organization's most effective ways of raising awareness is filming the rescue missions and sharing the transformations the sick animals make after being cared for.[3] The videos have proven to be a powerful tool, increasing awareness of Hope for Paws and generating donations.[4]

The Hagars and Fiona appeared in 2012 on Anderson Cooper's program with co-host Kristin Chenoweth.[5] Ellen DeGeneres tweeted about Miley, a malnourished stray that had been barely surviving in a trash heap and had severe mange, parasites, and a bacterial infection.
