The school was formed in 2012 from a merger of Holgate School and The Kingstone School.[1] It is on a new campus which contains facilities for leisure, cultural activities and adult learning to be used by the local community. Some classes taught in the school have been as large as 65 pupils,[2] utilizing the classrooms that have removable walls.
