It is located in the Cusco Region, Quispicanchi Province, Camanti District, and in the Puno Region, Carabaya Province, Ollachea District. It is situated northeast of Puicutuni and Jolpajaja. North of Huiscana there is a little lake named Huiscanacocha ("pickaxe lake").
