释义 |
If It's Alright With You/Just What I've Been Looking For is a 1974 RCA Records release by Dottie West. This album was clearly an attempt to introduce West, then a veteran country star for ten years, to the pop market, her first recording specifically aimed at crossover music appeal, with strings arrangements and pop love ballads. The album was also released in the quadrophonic disc format in a bid for appeal to audiophiles. The album produced two singles, the title songs "If It's Alright With You" and "Just What I've Been Looking For", which were modest successes on the country chart and also became West's first recordings to crack the Billboard Hot 100 for pop radio and sales albeit low-charting. RCA did not attempt to market West pop again and she would not return to pop charts for another six years by which time she was on Liberty Records. One of the more country tracks on the album is West's original "I'm Your Country Girl", which was the basis of her first commercial jingle for Coca-Cola. The album cover pictures West with her new husband, Byron Metcalf. This disc was produced by Jerry Bradley. Track listing
