Im studied music at Yewon School in Seoul and at Institute Le Rosey in Switzerland. Later he majored in engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, with a minor in music. After graduating he sought out Richard Cassilly to take further vocal lessons. After Cassilly's sudden death, Im returned to the university for a PhD in engineering, and got offered a job at an automobile manufacturer. However, after careful consideration, Im decided to pursue his singing dream instead. During his undergraduate studies he battled with leukemia.[2] Discography
