The Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) is an independent non-departmental public body tasked with the scrutiny of British Official development assistance (ODA).[1] Launched in 2011 by then International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell, the body scrutinises and reports on the effectiveness of British ODA, focusing on the work of the Department for International Development (DFID) and other government departments that disperse ODA. It however, does not cover ODA provided by devolved governments, that is, the Scottish and Welsh governments.[2][3] The ICAI reports to the House of Commons through the International Development Committee. ICAI's work is monitored by the Sub-Committee on the work of the Independent Commission for Aid Impact.[4] References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://icai.independent.gov.uk/about/|title=ICAI About Us|publisher=ICAI|date=21 October 2018|accessdate=21 October 2018}} 2. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.publicfinanceinternational.org/news/2012/10/can-aid-watchdog-stem-the-sceptics/ |title=Can aid watchdog stem the sceptics? |website=Public Finance International |date=1 October 2012}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=https://icai.independent.gov.uk/about-us/|title=ICAI’s remit|publisher=ICAI|date=21 October 2018|accessdate=21 October 2018}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=https://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/international-development-committee/sub-committee-on-the-work-of-the-independent-commission-for-aid-impact1/role/|title=Role - Sub-Committee on the work of the Independent Commission for Aid Impact |publisher=International Development Committee|date=21 October 2018|accessdate=8 November 2018}} External links
