Despite their early success in the student elections, EI always focused in the struggle in the street; demonstrations and strikes were the main means of struggle. Between 1998 and 2000, the organization grew again, gaining presence in all the universities of Galiza and getting seats in the faculty and university councils. Between 1998 and 2000 EI also made a lot of common acts, demonstrations and strikes with the Comités Abertos de Faculdade and the Movemento Estudantil Universitario. In 2001, the group focused more in unity with other independentist and leftist collectives, like the Revolutionary Students Federation or the Galician Antifascist Students Assembly.[1] In 2001 EI merged with other galician independentist and anticapitalist student unions to form AGIR (student organization).[4] A sector of EI didn't want to merge and split from the organization.[2] References1. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://www.lavozdegalicia.es/hemeroteca/2000/05/11/26881.shtml?idioma=galego|title=Unha manifestación de douscentos estudantes conclúe con varias desfeitas no centro histórico|author=La Voz de Galicia|publisher=Lavozdegalicia.es|accessdate=4 January 2015}} {{Galician nationalism |state=collapsed}}{{Galicia-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://estoutrasnotaspoliticas.blogspot.com.es/2006/12/breve-resenha-do-independentismo.html|title=ESTOUTRAS: Breve resenha do independentismo estudantil|publisher=Estoutrasnotaspoliticas.blogspot.com.es|accessdate=4 January 2015}} 3. ^EI won the elections in the history and geography faculty, with 11 seats won. 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.lavozdegalicia.es/hemeroteca/2000/12/19/341230.shtml?idioma=galego|title=Agrupacións extremistas fichadas pola policía coexisten na Universidade de Vigo|publisher=Lavozdegalicia.es|accessdate=4 January 2015|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20160305133259/http://www.lavozdegalicia.es/hemeroteca/2000/12/19/341230.shtml?idioma=galego|archivedate=5 March 2016|df=}} 6 : Secessionist organizations in Europe|1999 establishments in Spain|Galician nationalist parties|Socialism in Spain|Feminism in Spain|Marxist parties |
