Four known cases, three fatal, have occurred in humans as of July 12, 2015.[1][2][3][4] 2017{{See|2017 Central Luzon H5N6 outbreak}}After a confirmatory test done in Australia, it was confirmed that the Bird Flu strain in Pampanga in the Philippines in August 2017 was of the subtype H5N6.[5] 2016In 2016 cases of H5N6 were reported alongside H5N8, and H7N9 across the globe. Today, 22 of November 2016, South Korea called for many H5N6. Many cases were reported. In November and December human cases of H5N6 were reported in China.[6] In bird, by December there were four outbreaks in China since October and forced the culling of more than 170,000 birds.[7] By December 2016 South Korea had raised its bird flu alert to highest level for the first time.[8] The heightened alarm status came as the country grappled with an outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N6 bird flu that started a month ago in November.
