The Rayleigh Medal and Prize is an award which has been made biennially in odd-numbered years since 2008 by the Institute of Physics; "for distinguished research in theoretical, mathematical or computational physics". It is named after John Strutt, 3rd Baron Rayleigh and comprises a medal and a prize of £1000.[1]

It should not be confused with the medal of the same name awarded by the Institute of Acoustics.
