The House Interstate Cooperation Committee is an 11-member legislative body in the Georgia legislature consisting of a chairman, a vice-chairman, a secretary, and eight members. The Committee operates under a House mandate to maintain friendly contact by correspondence, conference, and other means with state officials and employees of other states, the federal government, and local government units.[1] Scope and jurisdictionThe House Interstate Cooperation Committee is responsible for encouraging and assisting the development of legislation and executive orders by introducing bills and encouraging administrative and judicial officials as well as employees of the state to develop and maintain friendly contact by correspondence, conference, and other available means with state officials and employees of other states.
