The area of the district is {{convert|4036|km2|sp=us}}.[3] Its administrative center is the town of Ipatovo.[3] Population: {{ru-census2010|62,751|;}} 69,268 (2002 Census);[5] 64,725 (1989 Census).[6] The population of Ipatovo accounts for 41.5% of the district's total population.
