Its purpose is to develop, maintain and promote standards in the fields of innovation management. The first plenary meeting of ISO TC 279 was held in Paris on 4 to 5 December 2013. Scope and missionThe scope of ISO TC 279 is "Standardization of terminology tools and methods and interactions between relevant parties to enable innovation." Standards published will be ISO 50500 series. Standards on innovation management will allow organizations to share their best practices in innovation management. This will facilitate collaboration and also develop the capability to innovate and to bring innovations successfully to market. These standards will be a set of best practices begins upon the leadership of the top management with the confirmation of the organization's strategy. MembersMembership in TC 279 is open to any national body, ISO member. A member can be either participating (P) or observing (O), with the difference mainly being the ability to vote on proposed standards. There are a number of countries that are active participants of TC 279 as well as a number of observing countries.[1] The secretariat of TC279 is the AFNOR (AFNOR), located in Paris, France. France has the secretary (AFNOR) and the chairmanship of this TC. Other organizations can participate as Liaison Members, some of which are internal to ISO/IEC and some of which are external.
