The country was represented by Chocolate, Menta, Mastik with the song "Emor Shalom" written by Ehud Manor and composed by Matti Caspi. they was selected by Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) in an internal selection since then four years their début at the contest in 1973, the Israeli broadcaster, to represent the country at the contest, held in The Hague, Netherlands. National finalChocolate, Menta, Mastik, who had already been chosen to represent Israel, sang three songs in the final. A jury chose the best song. The final was hosted by Ehud Manor, the songwriter of the winning song.
At EurovisionThe ensemble performed fourth on the night of the contest, following Germany and preceding Luxembourg. At the close of the voting, the song had received 77 points, placing Israel in fourth out of a field of 18 competing countries (the highest being 10 from Italy).
