On May 1 2000, Cesenatico changed the federation's name to the Italian Federation of Kickboxing and Associated Disciplines (FIKEDA). On March 23 2004, the federation was temporarily recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) as Associate Sport Discipline (DSA) and named Italian Kickboxing Federation (FIKB). In 2014, Donato Milano became the new President of FIKBMS. An Extraordinary General Assembly was held on June 21, at the Michelangelo Hotel Milan. After the Extraordinary General Assembly, The National Assembly of FIKBMS elected their new president. Two candidates were Donato Milano and Giorgio Lico. Three hundred and nine communities were present and eligible to vote. Milano was elected with 1337 votes versus 1281 for Lico.
