He played college football for Los Angeles City College, was selected to the Little All-American team and led the team to the national junior college football championship. He transferred to California State University, Fresno and played for the Fresno State Bulldogs football team.[1] During the 1942 college football season, Fellows led Fresno State to a 9-1 record, rushed for 599 yards and completed 82 of 195 passes for 1,314 yards.[2] He also broke Davey O'Brien's single-season record by throwing 23 touchdown passes.[2][3] He was selected by both Look magazine and Maxwell Stiles as a first-team halfback on the 1942 College Football All-America Team.[4] After graduating from college, Fellows was draft in the sixth round of the 1944 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, but did not play in the National Football League (NFL). In 1947, Fellows played for the Ottawa Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League (CFL).[5] In 1984, Fellows was inducted into the Fresno County Athletic Hall of Fame.[6] References1. ^{{cite news|title=Fellows stars as Fresno unbeaten|newspaper=Corsair|date=October 21, 1942|url=http://cdnc.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/cdnc?a=d&d=CRS19421021.2.32}} 2. ^1 {{cite news|title=Fresno State Secret|author=James Mark Purcell|newspaper=College Football Historical Society Newsletter|date=|url=http://library.la84.org/SportsLibrary/CFHSN/CFHSNv13/CFHSNv13n2b.pdf}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Jackie Fellows Hangs Up Pass Record as Fresno Whips Loyola|newspaper=Eugene Register-Guard|date=November 30, 1942|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1310&dat=19421130&id=P7BWAAAAIBAJ&sjid=aOgDAAAAIBAJ&pg=4749,289673}} 4. ^{{cite book|title=ESPN College Football Encyclopedia|page=1187|publisher=ESPN Books|year=2005|isbn=1401337031}} 5. ^{{Cite web|work=Just Sports Stats|url=http://www.justsportsstats.com/footballroster.php?team=CFLOTT&year=1947|title=1947 Ottawa Rough Riders Roster|accessdate=2015-09-18}} 6. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.fresnoahof.org/current-past-inductees|title=Fresno County Athletic Hall of Fame {{!}} Home|website=Fresno County Athletic Hall of Fame {{!}} Home|access-date=2017-02-03}} External links
