Mohammed Ali Saheb who gave leadership for the formation of the Kerala chapter of Jamaat-e-Islami. Official units of Jamaate Islami Hind in Kerala were formed in 1948. VP Mohammed Ali identified the members of the organization through the study classes which he had been conducting in different remote pockets of Kerala. On 30 January 1948, local unit of the organization was formed at Kozhikode. Later, the second unit was formed at Valanchery, Malappuram. Its student organisation is known as SIO.[2] Policies{{Empty section|date=August 2014}}HistoryJAMA'ATHE ISLAMI was founded on 26 August 1941 under the Islamic scholar Syed Abul A'la Maudoudi. Tharjumanul Qur'an which was published by Sayed Maududi from Hyderabad was popular among scholars of in and out of Kerala. In 1935, the translation of the articles of Maulana Maudoodi was published in the newspaper Al-Mursid Magazine, the Kerala Jamiathul Ulama's official magazine. KM Moulavi was the editor and publisher. This led to influence the various scholars of Kerala. One among was VP Mohammadali of Edayoor near Valanchery in Malappuram district. He was Known as Haji Sahib among Scholars. He met Maududi sb at Darul Islam in Pathankot when he was a student at Jamia Darasalaam in Umarabad. Moulana Maududi appointed VP MohammadAli to organize his work in Kerala. Instead of establishing a component of Jamaat-e-Islami, he created an organization called Jama'atul Musthdadein in Valanchery in 1946 and systematically maintained its activities. On 30 January 1948, local unit of the organization was formed at Kozhikode. Later, the second unit was formed at Valanchery, Malappuram.[3]ConferencesFirst conference of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Kerala was held in the month of January in 1948 at Valanchery, Malappuram. In the same year second conference was held at Kozhikode on 21 August 1948. Decision to start publication of Prabodhanam was taken in this conference. The conferences held at Kuttiady (1949), Valappattanam (1950), Edayur, Malappuram (1953), Aluva (1957), Moozhikkal (1960) suggested the development of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Kerala. OrganizationThe organization operates on the basis of policy-programs prepared every four years, based on the constitution of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. Ameer is the state president and has 3 assistant Ameer. The state Advisory committee (SHURA) is engaged in action and stages of different activities of the organisation.
