James Lister Newman, {{post-nominals|country=NZL|QSO}} (23 April 1903 – 17 October 1983) was a New Zealand geriatrician and advocate for the elderly, medical superintendent at Cornwall and Greenlane Hospitals in Auckland, and writer of the New Zealand Herald's Family Doctor column.[1] He wrote an unpublished history of Cornwall Hospital, a copy of which is held in the Alexander Turnbull Library. [2] In the 1975 Birthday Honours, he was made a companion of the Queen's Service Order for Public Services (QSO) for "services to the care of geriatrics".[3]
