He is a multiple-time Polish champion and a bronze medalist in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2015 World Championships. While studying in the United States, Switkowski initially attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he swam for the Virginia Tech Hokies under head coach Ned Skinner from 2013 to 2014.[1] Switkowski sat out the 2014–15 season to spend most of the year competing for the Polish national swimming team, before transferring to the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he will compete for the Florida Gators swimming and diving team under head coach Gregg Troy.[2] At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia, Switkowski put up a sterling effort at 1:54.10 in the final to win the bronze medal in the men's 200-meter butterfly.[3][4] In the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay, Switkowski led off with a split of 1:47.03 before the Polish foursome of Kacper Klich, Michał Domagała, and Kacper Majchrzak ended up to eighth at the very end in 7:10.34.[5] References1. ^{{cite news|first=Mark|last=Berman|title=Freshman swimmer makes a big splash for Hokies|url=http://www.roanoke.com/sports/colleges/va_tech/freshman-swimmer-makes-a-big-splash-for-hokies/article_92d1d270-b478-11e3-9d7e-0017a43b2370.html|publisher=The Roanoke Times|location=Christiansburg, Virginia|date=25 March 2014|accessdate=6 August 2015}} 2. ^{{cite news|title=Gator Men's Swimming & Diving Program Adds another Swimmer to Signing Class|url=http://www.gatorzone.com/news/30762|publisher=Florida Gators|date=5 June 2015|accessdate=6 August 2015}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Laszlo Cseh Wins 1st World Title in a Decade With 200 Fly Victory at 2015 FINA World Championships|url=http://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/news/laszlo-cseh-wins-1st-world-title-in-a-decade-with-200-fly-victory-at-2015-fina-world-championships/|publisher=Swimming World Magazine|date=5 August 2015|accessdate=6 August 2015}} 4. ^{{cite news|title=Hungary's Cseh wins 200 butterfly title at worlds|url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/more-sports/others/Hungarys-Cseh-wins-200-butterfly-title-at-worlds/articleshow/48363999.cms|publisher=The Times of India|date=5 August 2015|accessdate=6 August 2015}} 5. ^{{cite news|title=Great Britain Wins 800 Free Relay For First Time in History at 2015 FINA World Championships|url=http://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com/news/great-britain-wins-800-free-relay-for-first-time-in-history-at-2015-fina-world-championships/|publisher=Swimming World Magazine|date=7 August 2015|accessdate=8 August 2015}} External links
