Hitchcock resigned from the business in May 2016[1] prior to the Oracle acquisition,[2] which officially closed on January 31, 2017. The rumored purchase price was $600M.[3] He was born in Rochester, New York, and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), graduating with a BS, Management Information Systems.[4] Hitchcock began his academic career at WPI by studying chemistry but in his sophomore year, he met up with Tim Wilde, Chris Reinhardt and Tom Daly to work on a remote access project. This project has now become Dyn. Upon graduating, Hitchcock moved the company to Manchester, New Hampshire, where it is still headquartered.
