On 11 April 2016, the gram panchayat of Jillelguda was upgraded to Jillelguda municipality.[2] It is a part of the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency and Maheshwaram constituency of Telangana Legislative Assembly. Sabitha Indra Reddy is the present MLA of this constituency. TransportJillelaguda is connected to other places within Hyderabad via the TSRTC, with buses available from the DSNR and Midani bus depots. The nearest MMTS station is Malakpet. Jillelaguda also hosts a Grampanchayath Office. The nearest airport is Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
