Joseph Albert McClure (April 3, 1881[1] – July 1967) was a farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Canora from 1925 to 1929 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Progressive Party member. He was born in Brampton, Ontario, the son of Thomas McClure and Janet Moore.[1] He travelled west to Saskatchewan in 1902 and spent the fall harvesting grain. During the winter that followed, McClure worked at a sawmill in Gimli, Manitoba and for a grain elevator company in Winnipeg. The following year, he claimed a homestead near Sturgis, Saskatchewan.[1] In 1911, McClure married Floy Nesbit.[2] The McClures grew grain and raised purebred Shorthorn cattle and Clydesdale horses on their farm. In 1949, they sold the farm and returned to Ontario.[1] References1. ^1 {{cite book |url=http://www.ourroots.ca/page.aspx?id=1089504 |title=Harvest of Memories : Sturgis and District, The First Hundred Years : 1900-2000 |pages=542–43 |year=2000 |author=Sturgis and District History Book Committee |accessdate=2012-04-18}} {{DEFAULTSORT:McClure, Joseph A}}{{Saskatchewan-politician-stub}}2. ^1 2 {{cite book |title=Canadian Parliamentary Guide |last=Normandin |first=A L |year=1927}} 3 : Progressive Party of Saskatchewan MLAs|1881 births|1967 deaths |
