词条 | Sam Weller (character) |
释义 |
In chapter 10 of the novel, the eponymous hero Mr. Pickwick meets Sam Weller working at the White Hart Inn in The Borough and soon takes him on as a personal servant and companion on his travels. The relationship between the idealistic and unworldly Pickwick and the astute cockney Weller has been likened to that between Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.[3] References1. ^1 {{cite web|url=http://uktv.co.uk/yesterday/stepbystep/aid/579282|work=Yesterday (TV channel) website|title=The Top 10 Dickens characters|accessdate=31 August 2013}} {{The Pickwick Papers}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Weller, Sam}}{{novel-char-stub}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Wellerism|title=Definition of WELLERISM|website=www.merriam-webster.com}} 3. ^Mark Womald, introduction to {{cite book|title=The Pickwick Papers|last=Dickens|first=Charles|publisher=Penguin Classics|isbn=9780140436112|date=29 Jan 2004|url=http://www.penguinclassics.co.uk/nf/Book/BookDisplay/0,,9780140436112,00.html}} 6 : Charles Dickens characters|The Pickwick Papers|Fictional servants|Fictional people from London|Fictional characters introduced in 1836|Male characters in literature |
