Jung Chan-woo (Korean: 정찬우; born January 26, 1998), known by the stage name Chan is a South Korean singer and actor. He is known as a vocalist and the youngest member of South Korean boy group iKon, signed under YG Entertainment.

Career

Pre-debut acting appearances

In 2006, Chan appeared in the music video for TVXQ's "Balloons", playing a younger Max Changmin.[1]

In 2008, he appeared in the movie Lost and Found (달콤한 거짓말) and subsequently in a number of drama series, beginning with The Great King Sejong. He also appeared in the movie "Gabi" as the young Ilyich. He is known for playing a younger Lee Minho in both Boys Over Flowers and The Heirs.[2]

In 2017, it was announced that Chan became part of YG STAGE, which, manages actors and actresses under YG Entertainment.

2014-present: Mix & Match and iKON

In late 2014, it was announced that the YG Entertainment trainees that had previously competed as "Team B" in the reality survival programme WIN: Who Is Next would be participating in a subsequent survival programme, Mix & Match, for the chance to become part of a new group. The first episode of Mix & Match premiered on September 11.[3] While trainees B.I, Bobby, and Jay were confirmed for the seven-member lineup, the remaining three members of Team B competed with three new trainees, including Chan, for the four remaining places. Chan was officially confirmed as a member of iKON on November 5, 2014, and the group made their debut on September 15, 2015.[4]

In July 2018, Chan opened up a YouTube channel; under the name "Chan's Life," he posts various videos detailing his activities with iKon, his interactions with fellow members, playthroughs of different games, mukbangs, and more.[5][6]
