}}Kakka Thollayiram is a 1991 Indian Malayalam film, directed by V. R. Gopalakrishnan. The film stars Mukesh, Urvashi, Chithra and Sukumari in the lead roles. The film has musical score by Johnson.[1][2][3]

Plot

Revathy (Urvashi) is the sister of Rajashekaran (Mukesh). She becomes mentally ill because of the typhoid that affected her brain. Rajashekaran loves his sister more than anything else in the world. One day her brother tells her a story of a princess who had collected a coral bead each day for many years awaiting her prince. After hearing the story, Revathy assumes herself as the princess waiting for the prince. She started collecting coral beads each day. Soon, Ravi (Saikumar), a friend of Balakrishnan (K. B. Ganesh Kumar) rapes her and she eventually becomes pregnant. She falls in love with him and also thinks that he is the "prince" of the story told by her brother. She wishes to marry her "prince". Rajashekaran asks his neighbor Balakrishnan to bring back Ravi. Ravi, at first hesitates to marry Revathy because she is mentally retarded, but later realizes his mistake and was ready to marry her. When Ravi returns, Rajashekaran, not knowing that Ravi accepted Revathy, brutally beats and stabs him. Revathy was shocked to know that her prince for whom she was waiting is dead.
