It is located in Rasht District in Districts of Republican Subordination province. The jamoat has a total population of 6420.[1] Kalanak, Tajikistan is a town in the Districts of Republican Subordination in central Tadjikistan. The town is on the Surkhob River. HistoryDuring the 1920s the area was a hotbed for the Basmachi, the anti-Soviet resistance in Central Asia.[2][3] The Petra Pervogo Range with a height of 4,745 is nearby.
