The Sant Nirankari Mission ({{lang-hi|संत निरंकारी मिशन}}; also known as Universal Brotherhood Mission) is an all-embracing practical and dynamic spiritual ideology and social movement dedicated to establish and maintain Love, Peace, Equality and Oneness in the entire World, with no prejudice or discrimination, through enlightenment. It is a mission that aims to empower souls, and not only minds, towards Self-Realization through God-Realization (Brahmgyan). The Mission preaches the middle path in life, whereby one can enjoy spiritual bliss and practice righteousness, even while fulfilling all his worldly duties. The Mission is built upon the strong foundation of the teachings of its True Master (Satguru) that connect a soul to its source, the attribute-less, formless almighty God (Nirankar). The devotees have to follow a three-fold path of Sewa (Selfless Service), Sumiran (Prayer and remembrance of Nirankar) and Satsang (Congregation of enlightened souls). They are guided to be humble and ego-free by following the basic five principles, called Panch Pran (Five Vows). These principles also help a seeker in the process of God-Realization.

The Sant Nirankari Mission holds every scripture of every religion in highest esteem and honour and to make the understanding of the teachings of various masters simple and clear, the second head of the Mission, Baba Avtar Singh Ji wrote a Holy Book, called The Holy Avtar Vani in 1965. Avtar Vani, a collection of 376 verses, is a comprehensive treatise on practical spirituality. Composed primarily in Punjabi, the Holy Avtar Vani has now been translated into many languages including English, Punjabi, Marathi, and others. Besides Avtar Vani, the teachings and messages of Baba Hardev Singh Ji can be found in the verses of The Holy Hardev Vani, which is a collection of 301 verses.

The Mission was started by Baba Buta Singh Ji in 1929 in Peshawar, then in undivided India, to emancipate people from the chains of ignorance, fear, illusion, greed, ego and ritualism. He made them realize the need to rise above all differences created by man, on the basis of caste, creed, colour, religion or nationality by realizing their True Self, which is above and beyond the material world, called Maya. The mission grew in size and faith, also when the subcontinent saw the turbulent partition years of late 1940s. The Sant Nirankari Mission was then being led by Baba Avtar Singh Ji, the second head of the Mission. Baba Avtar Singh Ji was an energetic and pious master, whose charisma made thousands follow his word with unflinching faith. He also initiated the establishment of Sant Nirankari Mandal in 1948 in New Delhi, India; the executive body that would handle the administrative functions of the Mission, which was increasing in numbers with every passing day. A volunteer group, called the Sant Nirankari Sewa Dal (SNSD) was also formed in 1956-57 to serve the Sadh-Sangat (a group of devotees, also called Sangat in general communication ) during regular and periodic sangats (Holy Congregations) and Samagams (Large scale gathering of spiritually motivated devotees).

The Mission was headed from 3rd Dec 1962 till 24th April 1980 by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, the third Master of the Spiritual Movement, who took the message of the mission to various parts of the globe along with his wife, Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji. Rajmata Ji influenced the lives of many others through her magnanimity, faith and compassion. After Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, Baba Hardev Singh Ji led millions of Nirankari devotees from 24th April 1980, traveling tirelessly throughout the length and breadth of India and various other overseas destinations, emancipating mankind with the light of Truth. Baba Hardev Singh Ji was an epitome of Love, Compassion and Tolerance. He changed the lives of millions through his life and teachings. He created numerous milestones for the Mission, including the Nirankari Spiritual Museum called Journey Divine and the Fountain of Oneness at Nirankari Sarovar, Burari, Delhi. Baba Ji merged with the Almighty in an unfortunate car accident that took place near Montreal, Canada on 13th May 2016, leaving millions of Nirankari followers in extreme shock and sorrow. After Him, his wife, Mata Savinder Hardev Ji became the Mission’s next head, bringing relief to the Nirankari Family and taking charge of the golden legacy left behind by Baba Hardev Singh Ji. Despite ill-health, Mata Savinder Ji travelled extensively to spread the message of the Mission for over two years. On 17th July, 2018, Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj was consecrated as the sixth Master of the Sant Nirankari Mission by Mata Savinder Hardev Ji, who was not keeping well. Mata Savinder Ji merged with the Almighty on 5th August 2018, leaving the ocean of Nirankari devotees, once again in gloom. But Mata Sudiksha Ji consoled and healed the broken hearts and tearful eyes with her grace. Blessed with a spiritual up-bringing, Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj is leading the Mission today on the profound path laid by the previous Masters. She is especially guiding the youth of today to be aware, humble, dutiful and disciplined in all walks of life, through a series of symposia, called Nirankari Youth Symposium (NYS) across India and other countries.

The mission, being spread in over 3000 branches in India and Abroad, has millions of followers, who try to practice the virtues of loving devotion and selfless service of mankind in their lives.

The Mission has been holding its Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam since 1948 at various places in Delhi, including Idgah Grounds, Ramleela Maidan, Grounds behind Red Fort, Grounds at Nirankari Sarovar Complex, Burari etc. These Samagams attract a huge number of devotees from India and Abroad, who assemble together for a usually three day spiritual festival to meet and greet each other, besides of course strengthening their faith on the attribute-less, formless almighty God. The Mission recently organized its 71st Annual Samagam at Samalkha, Haryana at its own grounds, which are spread over a huge area on 24th, 25th and 26th November 2018.

Sant Nirankari Mission has also been instrumental in up-lifting the society through various social initiatives and programs, through the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation (SNCF). SNCF has been working to provide quality health, ethic based education and sustainable empowerment to various sections of the society through its initiatives. More than 1 Million units of blood have been donated by the devotees and volunteers of the Mission. SNCF has planted more than 1 million saplings over the years in association with Times of India Group. The volunteers of SNCF and SNSD have contributed more than 3 million man-hours to clean various places across India, including railway stations, hospitals, river banks, parks and streets etc.Sant Nirankari Mission has thus been declared as a Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by the Govt.of India. Whenever, there is a need to provide relief and rehabilitation to our brothers and sisters during natural calamities, the Mission and its sewadars come ahead to serve with a sense of duty and not favour. The recent massive deluge in Kerala (Aug 2018), saw more than 600 volunteers working continuously for months to re-establish the devastated villages and towns of the state. SNCF also organizes various programs to empower youth and women in various states of India. It is also running free health and eye check-up camps round the year, along with many dispensaries and hospitals. SNCF also provides scholarships for the meritorious and deserving students every year. For more information on SNCF and its activities, you can visit nirankarifoundation.org.

Today, the world needs a universal platform which can facilitate the entire mankind to live with mutual respect and acceptance by dropping all walls of hatred and narrow-mindedness. The Sant Nirankari Mission is such a link to global peace.
