But during the Ottoman revival Ottomans ended the Aydın dynasty in 1426. The settlement was established during the 17th century by a Turkmen tribe. After the first World War the settlement became a battle ground between the advancing Greek army and the militia (Turkish National Movement) of Gökçen Efe. But after Gökçen Efe was killed in November 1919, the settlement was occupied by the Greek army. After the Turkish War of Independence Kaymakçı was returned to Turkey. In 1939 it was declared a seat of township.[3] EconomyThe main agricultural crops are fruits (like plum) and vegetables (like peas and horse bean) . The town also hosts an organized industrial estete.[1] References1. ^1 Mayor's page {{tr icon}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Kaymakci}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://rapor.tuik.gov.tr/reports/rwservlet?adnksdb2&ENVID=adnksdb2Env&report=wa_idari_yapi_10sonrasi.RDF&p_il1=35&p_yil=2011&p_dil=2&desformat=html |title=Turkstat |publisher=Turkish Statistical Institute |accessdate=29 March 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20141006152403/http://rapor.tuik.gov.tr/reports/rwservlet?adnksdb2&ENVID=adnksdb2Env&report=wa_idari_yapi_10sonrasi.RDF&p_il1=35&p_yil=2011&p_dil=2&desformat=html |archivedate= 6 October 2014 |df= }} 3. ^Tourism news {{tr icon}} 3 : Populated places in Izmir Province|Towns in Turkey|Ödemiş District |
