In her series Double Life, she seeks to question ideas of identity, gender roles, and expectations made by society on the individual. The series, which depicts a woman in a romantic relationship with herself, shows the "couple" having intimate and private moments in their lives. In an interview for The Advocate, Connell named Roni Horn, Francesca Woodman, James Turrell, and Seiichi Furuya as artists from whom she draws inspiration.[4] Connell worked with the same model over a series of years to produce the work.[3] She teaches at Columbia College Chicago.[1] References1. ^1 {{cite web | author=Kelli Connell | year=2007 | title=Bio & Resume | work= | publisher=Kelli Connell | url=http://kelliconnell.com/home.html | accessdate=22 January 2012}} 2. ^{{cite web|author=Leo Costello |year= |title=Kelli Connell: Double Life |work= |publisher=Art Lies |url=http://www.artlies.org/article.php?id=129&issue=42&s=0 |archive-url=https://archive.is/20130226005716/http://www.artlies.org/article.php?id=129&issue=42&s=0 |dead-url=yes |archive-date=26 February 2013 |accessdate=22 January 2012 }} 3. ^1 {{cite web | author=Martha Schwendener | year=2007 | title=Art in Review; Kelli Connell | work=Arts | publisher=New York Times | url=https://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9E0DE3DD1131F93BA25756C0A9619C8B63 | accessdate=22 January 2012}} 4. ^1 2 {{cite web|author=Christopher Harrity |year=2012 |title=Artist Spotlight: Kelli Connell |work=Photography |publisher=The Advocate |url=http://www.advocate.com/Arts_and_Entertainment/Photography/Artist_Spotlight_Kelli_Connell/ |accessdate=22 January 2012 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120124031920/http://www.advocate.com/Arts_and_Entertainment/Photography/Artist_Spotlight_Kelli_Connell/ |archivedate=24 January 2012 |df= }} 5. ^{{cite web | author= | year=2012 | title=Biography & Links | work=Kelli Connell | publisher=artnet | url=http://www.artnet.com/artists/kelli-connell/biography-links | accessdate=22 January 2012}} External links
