The village is located {{convert|12|km|sp=us}} west of the center of Aleppo, right north of the Afrin - Aleppo Road.[2] The Khan al-Asal chemical attack{{main|Khan al-Assal chemical attack}}In a letter dated 19 March 2013 the representative of the Syrian Arab Republic at the U.N. informed of its allegation that at 07:30 on 19 March terrorist groups fired a rocket from the Kfar De'il area towards Khan al-Asal.[3] The U.N was not able to collect primary evidence relating to the munition or type of munition and/or delivery system. A February 2014 UN report confirmed the use of sarin that bore the "same unique hallmarks" as the sarin used in the 2013 Ghouta attacks, and that the perpetrators likely had access to the Syrian military's chemical weapons stockpile.[4] References1. ^ {{Aleppo Governorate|simeon}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Kfar Da'el}}{{AleppoSY-geo-stub}}2. ^{{cite news|title=United Nations Mission on Investigate Allegations of the Use of Chemical Weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic|url=https://unoda-web.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/report.pdf|accessdate=6 February 2014|publisher=United Nations| location = | date=}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=Letter from the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations |url=https://www.un.org/ga/search/view_doc.asp?symbol=S/2013/172 |accessdate=8 February 2014 |publisher=United Nations |location= |date=19 March 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20131214081227/http://www.un.org/ga/search/view_doc.asp?symbol=S%2F2013%2F172 |archivedate=14 December 2013 |df= }} 4. ^ U.N report A-HRC-25-65 Reuters, 5 March 2014[https://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/05/syria-crisis-chemical-idUSL6N0M21TT20140305] 1 : Aleppo |
