It was released on February 23, 2004, Deicide's first album on the band's new label Earache Records. The track "Scars of the Crucifix" spawned Deicide's first ever music video, filmed in Nottingham. This was the last album to feature the Hoffman brothers on guitar, after their 17-year tenure with the group. On July 11, 2006, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles reported that Deicide received a Silver Disc from the independent music trade body Impala for their sales in Europe.[4] The song "Fuck Your God" was used heavily as a torture method for detainees in Iraq by being piped into their bunks to induce sleep deprivation.[5] Track listing{{tracklist| all_writing = Glen Benton and Deicide | total_length = 29:32 | title1 = Scars of the Crucifix | length1 = 3:08 | title2 = Mad at God | length2 = 3:05 | title3 = Conquered by Sodom | length3 = 2:58 | title4 = Fuck Your God | length4 = 3:32 | title5 = When Heaven Burns | length5 = 4:08 | title6 = Enchanted Nightmare | length6 = 2:12 | title7 = From Darkness Come | length7 = 2:58 | title8 = Go Now Your Lord Is Dead | length8 = 1:55 | title9 = The Pentecostal | length9 = 2:46 | title10 = | note10 = hidden song, appears 0:03 after end of "The Pentecostal" | length10 = 2:50 }} Personnel
