Early life and education careerKomatireddy Venkat Reddy was born in Brahmana Vellemla village, Narketpally, Nalgonda district to a farmer, Papi Reddy. He has a brother, Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy earlier served as Member of Parliament, Bhongir.
Political careerKomati reddy career in politics started in youth congress. He has been in politics since his student days. Komtireddy won as a candidate from Nalgonda assembly constituency four times, in 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014. He was a Minister for Information Technology in YS Rajasekhar Reddy's government.[4] He served as minister for ports. He resigned both his ministry and his assembly seat in support of the Telangana cause in 2010 and again in October 2011, although the Congress government refused to accept his resignation as an MLA.{{citation needed|date=April 2012}} Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched a hunger strike in the cause of a separate Telangana state on 1 November 2011 at Nalgonda and continued it for straight 9 days which is unprecedented in Telangana history .{{citation needed|date=November 2011}} Telangana Congress suspended Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy on 26th September 2018, after giving 2 show cause notices he didn't turn up. Personal lifeKomatireddy Venkat Reddy married and has one daughter.
