{{nihongo|Kongōshō-ji|金剛證寺}} is a Rinzai school Zen temple on Mount Asama in Ise, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Founded in 825 by Kōbō Daishi, it is said to protect Ise Jingū from the northeast.[1][2]

Buildings

The seven by six bay, yosemune-zukuri Hondō (1609), with hinoki bark roof, is an Important Cultural Property.[3][4]

  • Portrait of Kuki Yoshitaka (1607) (Important Cultural Property).[5][6]
  • Heian period statue of Uhōdōji (Important Cultural Property).[7][8]
  • Kamakura period statue of Jizō Bosatsu (Important Cultural Property).[9][10]
  • Heian period tachi (Important Cultural Property).[11][12]
  • Heian period bronze mirror with twin phoenixes (Important Cultural Property).[13][14]
  • Artefacts from the Kyōgamine sutra mound (1159–1173) (National Treasure).[15] These include bronze sutra containers, mirrors with Amida and the Amida triad, and ceramics.[16][17] The area of funerary monuments where these items were found has been designated an Historic Site.[18][19]
