Before he retired from swimming in 2001, Zahov played and trained for Slavia Swimming Club in Sofia under his personal coach Lazar Kamenov.[2] Zahov competed only in the men's 100 m breaststroke at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.[3] He achieved a FINA B-cut of 1:05.60 from the European Championships in Helsinki, Finland .[4][5] He challenged seven other swimmers in heat three, including three-time Olympian Jorg Lindemeier of Namibia. He saved a seventh spot over Turkey's Hakan Kiper by 0.37 of a second in 1:07.09. Zahov failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed fifty-eighth overall on the first day of prelims.[6][7] Zahov is currently working as a head coach for Pluven Sprint Swimming Club in Sofia.[2] References1. ^{{cite sports-reference|Krasimir Zahov|https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/za/krasimir-zakhov-1.html|13 June 2013}} 2. ^1 2 {{cite news|last=Chinaski|first=Vaso|title=ПЛУВАНЕ: Двама олимпийци в селекцията на АБП за ветеранското в Пекин|trans-title=Two Olympians were selected to UPSS for Masters in Beijing|language=Bulgarian|url=http://www.bgswim.info/index.php?t=2318|publisher=Bulgarian Swimming Federation|date=29 November 2013|accessdate=28 March 2014}} 3. ^{{cite news|title=ПЛУВАНЕ: Двама наши плувци ще участват в Сидни|trans-title=Swimming: Two of our swimmers will participate in Sydney|language=Bulgarian|url=http://news.ibox.bg/news/id_1760072386|publisher=Bulgarian News Agency|date=26 July 2000|accessdate=13 June 2013}} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Swimming – Men's 100m Breaststroke Startlist (Heat 3)|url=http://www.omegatiming.com/File/Download?id=000100060013000000FFFFFFFFFFFF00|format=PDF|work=Sydney 2000|publisher=Omega Timing|accessdate=23 April 2013}} 5. ^{{cite web|title=2000 LEN European Aquatics Championships (Helsinki, Finland) – Men's 100m Breaststroke Heats|url=http://www.omegatiming.com/File/Download?id=000100090004000000FFFFFFFFFFFF01|format=PDF|publisher=Omega Timing|accessdate=27 April 2013}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=Sydney 2000: Swimming – Men's 100m Breaststroke Heat 3 |url=http://www.la84foundation.org/6oic/OfficialReports/2000/Masters/sw/SWresults.pdf |format=PDF |work=Sydney 2000 |publisher=LA84 Foundation |page=240 |accessdate=23 April 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110819181023/http://la84foundation.org/6oic/OfficialReports/2000/Masters/sw/SWresults.pdf |archivedate=19 August 2011 |df= }} 7. ^{{cite news|last=Newberry|first=Paul|title=Thompson anchors U.S. relay win; Thorpe wins 400 free|url=http://www.canoe.ca/2000GamesSwimming/sep16_tho.html|publisher=Canoe.ca|date=16 September 2000|accessdate=28 May 2013}} External links
