It is also the name of the whole massif.[3] Kunturiri is located in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pukarani Municipality,[4] southeast of Chachakumani and northwest of Huayna Potosí. The central part of the Kunturiri group is formed by three peaks which resemble a condor with wings spread:
Kuchillu Khunu (Aymara kuchillu knife (from Spanish cuchillo), khunu snow,[5][6] "knife snow") is the name of the peak south of the "head of the condor" at {{Coord|16|10|47|S|68|14|50|W}}.[7] Other peaks in the Kunturiri massif are Pico Reya ({{convert|5495|m|ft|0}}), Qallwani (Yugoslavia) ({{convert|5492|m|ft|0}}) 2 km north of Kunturiri, Wintanani ({{convert|5428|m|ft|0}}), Pico Eslovenia ({{convert|5381|m|ft|0}}), Pequeño Alpamayo ({{convert|5370|m|ft|0}}), Pico Medio ({{convert|5355|m|ft|0}}), Ilusión ({{convert|5330|m|ft|0}}), Aguja Negra ({{convert|5290|m|ft|0}}), Jist'aña ({{convert|5260|m|ft|0}}), Diente ({{convert|5200|m|ft|0}}), Ilusioncita ({{convert|5150|m|ft|0}}), Tarija ({{convert|5060|m|ft|0}}) and Titicaca ({{convert|4968|m|ft|0}}).[8] The Spanish names of the peaks do not occur in the maps of the Bolivian IGM (Instituto Geográfico Militar).[1][9] The lakes Ch'iyar Quta and Juri Quta are situated south of the massif.
