Kuthukalvalasai is a small village(Gram panchayat) in Tenkasi which is in Tirunelveli district, in Tamil Nadu.It is located at the foots of Western Ghats and Courtallam hills. It is located 61 kms away from District headquarters Tirunelveli. 1 km away from Tenkasi. 652 km away from the State capital Chennai.^[1] This rural area is 6 kilometres away from Courtallam and 9 kilometres away from Thirumalai kovil. Its postal head office is Elathur (Tirunelveli).

History

The village got the name Kuthukal because of the historical Ramar Temple, which is located nearby. Earlier, the village had large areas of agricultural land and factories, and was surrounded by windmills. Recently, much of the land has been converted to residential plots.
