Its name is based on a Sikh public figure of the area. Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Shareef contested elections from here and got elected in May-2013 general elections with a high margin from Mansha Sindhu, an PTI candidates. Ladheke is divided into three parts, Ladheke Unche, Ladheke Neewain and Ladheke Bhullar. Notable residents include Safeer Maan and Zameer Maan.
