They claim to be Suryavanshi Rajput, descendants of Rama. The Lalotras were also found in Sialkot District, and these Lalotras immigrated to India at the time of the Partition of India. They are a Dogra sub-group, and their customs are similar to other Dogras. Annual MeetMembers of the Lalotra tribe get Blessings from their Kuldevi (Mata Rai) meet at Kuldevi temple on the day after Mahashivratri annually.
