It is set to be the tallest residential building in Europe{{cn|date=July 2018}} and will have more habitable floors than any other building in the UK (overtaking the current tallest residential tower, Deansgate Square South Tower). The development was formerly known as City Pride, the same name as the public house it replaces, before a name change in 2016. Site historyThe City Pride public house was formerly the only building on the site and closed in 2012.[3] Oracle Group purchased the freehold in 2007 for £6.75M and sold it to Glenkerrin for £32M in 2008.[4][5] Landmark North Ltd and UK Power Network Holdings purchased the site (and the associated Island Point site) from the administrators of Glenkerrin for £43M in 2011.[2] In 2016, a development loan of £320m was agreed in order to continue with construction.[3] PlanningChalegrove Properties registered a planning application with Tower Hamlets in December 2012 for the erection of a residential-led mixed-use tower of 75 floors[8] comprising 822 residential units and 162 serviced apartments and associated amenities.[9] The application was permitted (subject to conditions) on 9 October 2013.[9] The application is subject to a Section 106 Agreement with a total amount payable to Tower Hamlets of £5,182,279.[11] Island PointChalegrove Properties registered a planning application in December 2012 for a development of 173 homes at a site located at 443-451 Westferry Road in a linked application with what was then known as the City Pride development to fulfill the affordable housing conditions.[12] The application was permitted (subject to conditions) on 9 October 2013.[9] The application is subject to a Section 106 Agreement with a total amount payable to Tower Hamlets of £4,069,361 (including £2,734,636 for the provision of educational facilities in the Borough).[14] References1. ^{{cite web|title=31 Facts: Landmark Pinnacle - T|url=https://www.buildington.co.uk/blog/2017/05/25/31-facts-about-landmark-pinnacle-development-in-canary-wharf-london-e14/}} [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]2. ^{{cite news | url=https://www.scmp.com/presented/business/topics/invest-overseas-properties/article/2126980/landmark-pinnacle-london | title=Landmark Pinnacle: London waterfront living from a unique vantage point | work=South China Morning Post | date=8 January 2018}} 3. ^{{cite web|title=Landmark deal on the Isle of Dogs|url=http://www.propertymatters.co.uk/news/landmark-deal-on-the-isle-of-dogs.html|website=propertymatters.co.uk|accessdate=29 September 2016}} 4. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk |title=Register of planning decision notices |at=PA/12/03248 "North Elevation" |date=18 January 2013 |accessdate=31 October 2013}} 5. ^1 2 3 {{cite web |url=http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk |title=Register of planning decision notices |at=PA/12/03248 |date=12 December 2012 |accessdate=30 October 2013}} 6. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.wharf.co.uk/2012/03/isle-of-dogs-pub-city-pride-pr.html |title=Isle of Dogs' pub City Pride prepares for last orders |author=Rob Virtue |publisher=The Wharf |date=22 March 2012 |accessdate=3 November 2013 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://archive.is/20131104101333/http://www.wharf.co.uk/2012/03/isle-of-dogs-pub-city-pride-pr.html |archivedate=4 November 2013 |df= }} 7. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.bdonline.co.uk/news/oracle%E2%80%99s-%C2%A332m-isle-of-dogs-coup/3114280.article |title=Oracle’s £32m Isle of Dogs coup |publisher=Building Design |date=23 May 2008 |accessdate=3 November 2013}} 8. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7445311.stm |title=London pub sells for £32m |author=Karl Mercer |publisher=BBC |date=9 June 2008 |accessdate=3 November 2013}} 9. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk |title=Register of planning decision notices |at=PA/12/03247 |date=22 January 2013 |accessdate=3 November 2013}} 10. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk |title=Register of planning decision notices |at=PA/12/03248 - Documents - Section 106 Agreement |date=23 October 2012 |accessdate=27 October 2013}} 11. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.towerhamlets.gov.uk |title=Register of planning decision notices |at=PA/12/03247 - Documents - Section 106 Agreement |date=23 October 2013 |accessdate=27 December 2013}} }}{{UKSkyscrapers|Approved}}{{Major Development Projects in London}}{{Canary Wharf}}{{coord|51.502667|N|0.025417|W|type:landmark_region:GB|display=title}} 2 : Skyscrapers in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets|Buildings and structures in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets |
