The original section dates to about 1800, and is a two-story, one bay, log structure. The interior has an 8-foot, stone fireplace and gooseneck spiral staircase. A two-story frame addition was built in the 1800s, with an addition built in the 1900s and former patio enclosed in 1976. The additions take a saltbox form. The house was restored in the 1940s. Also on the property is a contributing stone Pennsylvania bank barn.[2] It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.[1] References1. ^1 {{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania}}{{ChesterCountyPA-NRHP-stub}}2. ^{{cite web| url = https://www.dot7.state.pa.us/ce/SelectWelcome.asp| title = National Historic Landmarks & National Register of Historic Places in Pennsylvania| publisher = CRGIS: Cultural Resources Geographic Information System| format = Searchable database}} Note: This includes {{cite web| url = {{NRHP-PA|H001565_01H.pdf}}| title = National Register of Historic Places Inventory Inventory-Nomination: Lapp Log House| accessdate = 2012-11-01| author =Jane L.S.
