It can be found in both New Zealand and Australia. It is characterized by having large fronds (around a meter in length) with large sporangia on their undersides. The shape of the fronds is elliptical (similar to that of Ostrich Fern). It grows from wet lowlands to montane forests.[2] References1. ^{{cite web|title=Leptopteris superba (Colenso) C.Presl, 1847|url=http://www.nzor.org.nz/names/14c96dae-acb8-42f6-b2ca-f5bed7145873|website=New Zealand Organisms Register|publisher=Landcare Research, Alan Herbarium|accessdate=30 December 2015}} 2. ^{{cite web|title=Leptopteris superba (Prince of Wales Fern)|url=http://www.terrain.net.nz/friends-of-te-henui-group/other-flora-in-taranaki/prince-of-wales-fern-leptopteris-superba.html|website=T.E.R.R.A.I.N|publisher=Taranaki Educational Resource: Research, Analysis and Information Network|accessdate=30 December 2015}} External links
