It grows up to 2 metres high and has small, narrow leaves that are about 10 mm long and 3 mm wide. White flowers with five, rounded petals appear between November and January in the species native range.[1] The species was first formally described in Australian Systematic Botany in 1996, based on plant material collected from Brumby Point on the Nunniong Plateau in the Alpine National Park.[2] The species is listed as "vulnerable" on the Department of Sustainability and Environment's Advisory List of Rare Or Threatened Plants In Victoria.[3] References1. ^{{cite book |title=Wild Plants of Victoria (database)|year=2009 |publisher=Viridans Biological Databases & Department of Sustainability and Environment}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q647892}}{{Myrtaceae-stub}}{{Australia-rosid-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.anbg.gov.au/cgi-bin/apni?TAXON_NAME=Leptospermum+jingera|title=Leptospermum jingera |accessdate=30 May 2011|work= Australian Plant Name Index (APNI), IBIS database|publisher = Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research, Australian Government, Canberra}} 3. ^{{cite web|title=Advisory List of Rare Or Threatened Plants In Victoria - 2005 |publisher=Department of Sustainability and Environment (Victoria) |url=http://www.land.vic.gov.au/dse/nrenpa.nsf/LinkView/996B0477753A4204CA256DD4007F1CA528E305DE442CAC684A256DEA0024ACF6 |accessdate=2011-07-06 |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110930012743/http://www.land.vic.gov.au/dse/nrenpa.nsf/LinkView/996B0477753A4204CA256DD4007F1CA528E305DE442CAC684A256DEA0024ACF6 |archivedate=2011-09-30 |df= }} 3 : Leptospermum|Myrtales of Australia|Flora of Victoria (Australia) |
