The Osmania University (OU) is a state university which is located in Hyderabad, India. It was established in 1918 with the help of chief Architect of Mahbub Ali Khan - Nawab Sarwar Jung. The university was named after the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan. It is the first in India to have Urdu as an official language.
