The Middle Class Party was an Australian political party formed in 1943. The party was led by Hector Dwyer, and was formed on 8 April 1943 at a meeting of the Australian Bank Officials' Organisation. It claimed to represent Australia's middle class, a claim that would be echoed by Robert Menzies' formation of the Liberal Party of Australia a year later.[1] References1. ^{{cite news|url=http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article55871870|title=Political parties|newspaper=The Mail|date=5 June 1943}} {{Defunct Australian political parties}} 4 : Defunct political parties in Australia|Political parties established in 1943|1943 establishments in Australia|Political parties with year of disestablishment missing |
