The alternately arranged leaves have toothed or lobed edges and are up to 2.5 inches long. The flowers have five red or pink petals and bloom from June until the fall months. They are attractive to hummingbirds.[4] Many animals feed on the plant, including livestock. It is added to seed mixes used to vegetate rangeland in its native range.[4] This plant is cultivated for use as a garden and landscaping flower. It has the capacity to become weedy.[4] References1. ^1 {{ThePlantList | accessdate = 16 September 2015}} 2. ^1 {{citation |chapter-url=http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/ornamentals/nativeshrubs/pavonialasiopetal.htm |title=Texas Native Plants Database |chapter=Pavonia, Rose Mallow, Rock Rose, Wright Pavonia: Pavonia lasiopetala |accessdate=9 April 2015}} 3. ^1 {{GRIN | accessdate = 23 January 2018}} 4. ^1 2 Pavonia lasiopetala.
