Ratschkathl is a stage character of the Bavarian popular theatre. It means "rattlepuss", literally "gossiping Cathy". Today in the Bavarian language it is a synonym for a "chatty and gossip addicted woman".{{cn|date=March 2016}} The inventor of this stage character was the Bavarian folk actress Elise Aulinger.
