SM UB-117 was a German Type UB III submarine or U-boat in the Imperial German Navy during World War I. She was commissioned into the Imperial German Navy on 6 May 1918 as SM UB-117.{{#tag:ref|"SM" stands for "Seiner Majestät" ({{lang-en|His Majesty's}}) and combined with the U for Unterseeboot would be translated as His Majesty's Submarine.|group=Note}}

UB-117 was surrendered to the British on 26 November 1918 and broken up in Felixstowe in 1919/20.{{sfn|Gröner|1991|pp=25-30}}

Construction

She was built by Blohm & Voss of Hamburg and following just under a year of construction, launched at Hamburg on 21 November 1917. UB-117 was commissioned in the spring the next year under the command of Kptlt. Erwin Waßner. Like all Type UB III submarines, UB-117 carried 10 torpedoes and was armed with a {{convert|10.5|cm|in|2|abbr=on}} deck gun. UB-117 would carry a crew of up to 3 officer and 31 men and had a cruising range of {{convert|7,420|nmi|lk=in}}. UB-117 had a displacement of {{convert|519|t|LT|lk=in|abbr=on}} while surfaced and {{convert|649|t|LT|abbr=on}} when submerged. Her engines enabled her to travel at {{convert|13.3|kn|lk=in}} when surfaced and {{convert|7.4|kn}} when submerged.
