The station, established in 2008, is owned and operated by Educational Media Foundation. ProgrammingWKIW broadcasts a Christian contemporary format as an affiliate of the K-LOVE network. HistoryIn December 1998, Broadcasting for the Challenged, Inc., applied to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a construction permit for a new broadcast radio station. The FCC granted this permit on July 18, 2005, with a scheduled expiration date of July 18, 2008.[3] The new station was assigned call sign "WICE" on July 28, 2005.[1] In April 2007, Broadcasting for the Challenged, Inc., contracted to sell the permit for WICE as part of a nine-station deal with the Educational Media Foundation for a combined sale price of $400,000.
